Double Page Spread - layout

Designing the layout for my double page spread was considerably different than designing the layout for my front cover and contents page. They were both A4 and portrait where as my double page spread is A3 and Landscape. I had already decided which images to use on my double page spread, my article had been written and the font was already decided from the beginning because I want to keep with the magazine theme and the house style.

This is my double page Spread Layout.

I designed the page so that there are three columns to each A4 page. I wanted my images to be laid out so that there was one on each page in different corners. There was really only one format in which I could do this, therefore the image of Rosie sitting will be on the left and the image of Rosie standing will be on the right. The images will also be text wrapped. A title will be at the top of the page, left aligned and the writing will be in columns, flowing from the top left to the bottom right of the A3 spread. The colours that will be used for my double page spread are; black, white, red and grey. These colours have been used throughout my magazine and are a major theme of the house style, so I would not want to change these dramatically. The fonts on this page will also have featured elsewhere, either on the front cover or the contents page.
